Serving Our Community Since 1901

Church of the Oaks has served the community of Cotati since 1901. We affirm the freedom of all persons as to beliefs, and we honor the diversity of humanity by being open and affirming the dignity of human beings as founded on the presence of God within them.

We Welcome All...
  • Who desire to know God and to know that God is love and accept Jesus, the Christ, as the Master Teacher. Christ - the Divinity Within - is the head of this assembly and we are one in Christ Consciousness.
  • We believe there is no greater commandment than this: Thou shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.
  • We believe that our church is not this building but always the people, a believing assembly.
  • As an assembly we unite that we may more effectively minster to the needs of others that all may benefit, mutally, through our spiritual quest.
  • We desire to work together, to help one another, to pray together and join in our thoughts and spiritual powers for the enrichment of ourselves and all humanity.

If you have any questions about the philosophy of the Church of the Oaks or would like more information please contact the church minister Vivienne Clark    (707) 538-9734

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
- Marianne Williamson from "A Return to Love"
